About Dewas
Dewas nasha mukti kendra district is one of the districts of the state of Madhya Pradesh. For the Name of District Dewas there are said to be two stories. One is that
Dewas lies on the foot of Chamunda hill about 300 ft. above the ground level on top of the hill shrine of Devi Chamunda is situated. The statue of Devi Chamumda is carved on the rocky wall of a cave, therefore it is known as Devi Vashini (the Goddess’s residence), from this the name Dewas (dev-vas) seems to have been derived. The other story of the probable origin of name of district comes from the name of the Dewasa Bania who is known as the founder of village Dewas. Dewas district comes under Ujjain division. District headquarters is at the town of Dewas. The district is divided in to 9 tehsils namely - Sonkatch, Dewas, Bagli, Kannod, Tonk-Khurd, Khategaon, Satwas, Hatpipliya and Udainagar.
देवास नशा मुक्ति केंद्र जिला मध्य प्रदेश राज्य के जिलों में से एक है। देवास जिले के नाम के लिए दो तल कहा जाता है। एक यह है कि देवास चामुंडा पहाड़ी की तलहटी में जमीन से लगभग 300 फीट की ऊंचाई पर स्थित है, जिसके ऊपर देवी चामुंडा का मंदिर स्थित है। देवी चामुमदा की मूर्ति एक गुफा की चट्टानी दीवार पर उकेरी गई है, इसलिए इसे देवी वाशिनी (देवी का निवास) के रूप में जाना जाता है, इसी से देवास (देव-वास) नाम की उत्पत्ति हुई प्रतीत होती है। जिले के नाम की संभावित उत्पत्ति की दूसरी कहानी देवास बनिया के नाम से आती है जिसे देवास गाँव के संस्थापक के रूप में जाना जाता है। देवास जिला उज्जैन संभाग के अंतर्गत आता है। जिला मुख्यालय देवास शहर में है। जिले को 9 तहसीलों में बांटा गया है - सोनकच्छ, देवास, बागली, कन्नौद, टोंक-खुर्द, खातेगांव, सतवास, हाटपिपलिया और उदयनगर।
